Legislation to Repeal ACA Fails Featured

House Republican leaders pulled legislation to repeal the Affordable Care Act (ACA) from consideration on the House floor in the afternoon on March 24, in a defeat for President Trump.

House Speaker Paul D. Ryan conceded, “We’re going to be living with Obamacare for the foreseeable future.” The defeat of the Republicans’ three-month effort to repeal President Barack Obama’s signature legislation revealed deep divisions in the Republican Party with members of the conservative Freedom Caucus opposing the legislation.
