CA Law Update: New Transgender Regulations in Effect as of July 1, 2017 Featured

Effective July 1, 2017, new regulations are in effect in California that expand existing protections under California’s Fair Employment and Housing Act (FEHA), for transgendered individuals.

The new protections include equal access to use of restroom facilities; prohibitions against seeking proof of an individuals sex, gender, or gender identity or expression; a requirement that employers use the employee’s preferred gender, name or pronoun identity; and expanded definitions and protections for “transitioning.”  Read more here.
